The turbo - codes m - binary ( Simulation and application with pictures )

چکیده
This paper presents a new digital communication system called turbocodes m-binary. The advantages of building m-bit compared to the conventional scheme of turbo codes (m = 1), are varied: better convergence of the iterative process, larger minimum distances less punching, lower latency, robustness to the sub-optimality of the decoding algorithm, especially when the MAP algorithm is simplified by the Max-Log-MAP Version.

Non-binary turbo-coded physical-layer network coding on impulsive noise channels
ELECT Non-binary turbo codes promise excellent performance for a wide range of applications and environments, but research in this area is sparse. The performance of a non-binary turbo code defined in GF (4) on a two-way wireless relay channel (TWRC) employing physical-layer network coding, which is affected by impulsive noise is investigated. Simulation results for binary and non-binary turbo ...

متن کاملConvergence of non-binary iterative decoding
Mutual information transfer characteristics have been recently proposed by ten Brink as a quasi-analytical tool for the performance analysis of iterative decoding of concatenated codes. Given the individual transfer characteristics of the component codes in a concatenated coding system (obtained by simulation), the convergence region and average decoding trajectory of the concatenated system ma...
متن کاملA Hybrid ARQ Using Double Binary Turbo Codes
The reliability of a data communication can be improved by using an automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocol, in which the receiver requests the retransmission of data packets when an error is detected in the received data. The hybrid ARQ (HARQ) scheme combines an ARQ and an error correction coding [1]. Turbo codes proposed by Berrou et al. in 1993 [2] show an error correction capability approac...
متن کاملNonlinear Turbo Codes for the AWGN Channel with Higher-Order Modulations and the OR Multiple Access Channel
This paper addresses the problem of designing parallel concatenated nonlinear trellis codes (PC-NLTCs). These codes have advantages over binary linear turbo codes for higher-order modulations or in applications where a non-uniform distribution of ones and zeros in the output is optimal. Two applications are considered in this work. First, this paper shows that for higher-order modulations using...
